Having worked with ING on a number of occasions, performing various types of tasks and works, a relationship of trust was forged with the client. This would open the doors to new opportunities in the future. Immersed in the transformation of its business culture, ING decided to engage Cushman & Wakefield in a project to create a new workplace that would foster creativity and innovation whilst optimising its portfolio and aligning spaces to its agile working model.

The decision was made to roll out this concept in the Helios office building, a newly created campus designed around the most innovative workplace trends.

The main goal was to create a space in keeping with ING’s new culture and identity. This space needed to offer unique experiences in surroundings that foster creativity and innovation, and which help to attract better talent, better customers and improved results. As a consequence, the space was designed as an ecosystem, bringing together different surroundings and serving people’s needs. The tools leading to the success of the project included directed communications, the strategic use of language and the projection of the culture and image of a global brand within the space.

The Covid-19 pandemic broke out during the construction phase, with all of the impacts that would be expected. Nevertheless, the project forged ahead, adapting rapidly and offering solutions to the client. Completed within the anticipated time frame, cost schedule and according to specification, the clients expectations for this ambitious project were satisfied.
