Prosegur: How to encourage creativity in the workspace

Our Office Agency team found a location on the A2 corridor, within the 5,000 sq m of the five-storey office building at no.6, Juan Ignacio Luca de Tena. Our Architectural/PDS team implemented Prosegur’s operational transformation plan as the basis for the creation of a new model of working within the company.

This project is encompassed by the COLABORA initiative, by means of which the company has sought to take its work philosophy to the next level through spaces, fostering creativity, innovation and collaboration between roles. The entire building is considered as representing "collaborative coworking" for all employees. This factor is entirely disruptive for both Prosegur and the office sector and workplaces in general and was first experienced in the Co-Studio space located in its Madrid head office.

The building is divided into 3 clearly differentiated areas: the ground floor, considered as representing the agora of the entire building where crossover collaboration with the remaining office floors is prioritised; the standard floors, structured around working neighbourhoods, fostering relationships between these and through the use of collaborative and creativity spaces; and, lastly, the rooftop terrace, which provides an exterior collaborative space. By means of this layout and using a flexible model, the company has adapted the space to people’s needs, rather than the reverse.

The main goal was to develop a workspace that would act as a catalyst for the company’s transformation. This has been achieved through the application of a concept that is innovative and disruptive in terms of the way of working, with the corresponding technology impact and a differentiating design that is balanced and adapted to employees’ needs.

Every detail is crucial in that it must remind one of a comfortable, inspirational home: it has better lighting and acoustics, along with warmer colours. Spaces such as the ground floor chill out area and the availability of showers ensure this. Within this transformation, the company also wished to implement actions that are environmentally sustainable and impactful, such as bicycle parking. All of these are in line with the Leed Platinum certification that the building already possesses. In short, a good layout is essential when choosing and designing the working environment, putting employee well-being at the heart of everything in that it represents the backbone of any business project, whilst also helping to attract and retain talent.

The Juan Ignacio Luca de Tena office building is therefore perceived within Prosegur as a brand icon, a hallmark of its new corporate identity and mirror to the transformation that it is undertaking. It is the basis of the global playbook for all of Prosegur’s offices worldwide and, step-by-step, the company will roll out this concept in other countries in which it is present.
