How the future of urban design will look, including our workplaces, is directly linked to understanding how the virus is spread and its long-term repercussions. Yet, even now, we have gained newfound awareness of the important role that all people play—waste collectors, cashiers, front line workers—in maintaining societal balance. That, along with our empathy for the elderly and others who have proved more vulnerable to this terrible virus, are now in the spotlight. How such people will be housed and cared for will be redefined. Technology too has entered the picture in a big way in support of remote working, smart buildings and urban design.
